just to see what next generation of mp3 player going to be.

SEOUL, Korea (AVING) -- <Visual News> plezo(www.plezo.com) announced the launch of its mp3 player 'PMG-250' supporting emulation game functionality. A company official said that the PMG-250 provides users with enhanced stability by adopting Amtel's ARMCORE 9 CPU. It features 2.5-inch LCD, dual speaker, and three buttons and it supports 2GB memory and SD card slot with which users are available to store high capacity data. Suggested price is 169,000(KRW).

(this one has first arm 9 chipset out in the market. tho' it seems to be more a gaming platform. but it has enough computing power to do mpeg.)

Hearing that Intel now has a relatively fond view of Linux is far from surprising, especially considering that the chipmaker already has quite a few open-source projects out in the open. To help consolidate its efforts and spearhead future developments, Intel has apparently launched the Mobile & Internet Linux Project website, which showcases a number of ideas to improve "power management, user interfaces, use of wireless networks, web browsing, chatting, and software development for mobile devices." Intel is reportedly hoping to garner interest from external programmers such as those found at Canonical and Red Flag Linux, who have both signed on already for the ride. Currently, the actual scope of the endeavor still seems a bit foggy, but Dirk Hohndel, Intel's chief Linux and open-source technologist, dubbed it a "technology incubator for a lot of things that are going to be productized in the next three years."

iriver's new W10 caught a bit of unexpected competition today as SanDisk's Sansa View and it isn't even out of the gate yet, but it definitely appears that a new category is emerging: the portable media player with touchscreen and PDA like functionality. It all comes full circle, dunnit? This WiFi-equipped pseudo-GPS-enabled media players has one of the highest resolution screens in its class (480 x 272 at 3-inches), 8GB of memory, miniSD, FM tuner, H.264, WMV, and so on. Check otu the gallery, we've got the pics.

LG puts a shine on every gadget that comes out of its factories. The LG T54 is a slim mini-PMP in a shiny metal box measuring 54.4 x 92.6 x 11.5mm. It boasts a 2.4-inch 260k-color TFT LCD screen. It plays AVI at 30fps and MP3, OGG, WMA and WAV audio files. It also supports JPG, BMP and TXT, in case you want a quiet read instead of listening to music or watching TV. Besides tuning in to DMB broadcasts, this LG plays games like a true made-for-China gadget. The battery on this one lasts 25 on music playback, 5 hours on video and 4 hours tuning in to digital TV.
