Quick wordpress helpThis is for MdM crews to quickly get oriented and start posting with wordpress.1. enter, Click "login" on bottom right, under META. or book mark this http://www.moteldemoka.com/wp-admin/ 2. Go to "User", change your password 3. Also: if you know HTML, highly recommended to turn the stupid built in input editor, it's under your "personal settings too" Personal Options Use the visual rich editor when writing ------------------------ How to make an entry: 1. Type all stuff first, add links 2. upload pictures, mp3 (using the upload feature) under the entry windows) (also see note below) 3. Click "save and continue editing) Yor post now will be saved, and also appear in "preview window" You will see that post EXACTLY as it appears on front page. The post now is in "draft mode" 4. unfortunately Wordpress has terrible graphical input window. You have to tweak pictures sizes and text flow by hand, unless you are happy with what it gives you. 5. Select "category" this will also be "technorati tag" don't forget, specially if your post fit perfectly with listed categories... You may select more than one categories 6. Publish. Note: Timestamp: You can make wordpress to post something in the future at your chosen time. edit timestamp and hit publish. Your post will appear at the time of your choosing. Uploading note: 1. since upload will become part of wordpress database. Which mean will also become "back up process" It is HIGHLY recomended, you select pictures carefully (not to big) because MdM arhive will grow very fast with all those pictures. 6 months from now, it will take forever to back up the site. Remember SIZE of file matter. We are not in blogspot anymore where it takes care of everything. If You have 2MB picture and only want to show 200 by 100 pixels, reduce it first by hand. 2. mp3. as of now, use the built in uploader. But I think soon, we have to do upload to different directory, so the MP3 will not become part of wordpress database/backup. managing mp3 files will also be easier that way. (but we have to use "ftp uploader") bottom line |

this might be usefull to remember <img style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://static.flickr.com/100/298765089_9b38d82c63_o.jpg" border="0" /> essentially insert this --- style="float: left; width="200" src... where float and width control where the picture should flow, and the size... ------------------------ Or if you are lazy...just compose the whole thing in blogspot window. and paste the whole thing into wordpress "HTML window" -- but dammit, learn HTML, it's pretty handy. . |
