Impulse! is owned by Universal. Uncle Tupelo is owned by Sony (probably the right is purchased) Almost all classic jazz albums are owned by EMI. Nonesuch is Time warner and Verve is universal. So i have to filter out several titles you suggest.

Caroline is EMI.

I know uncle tupelo is important. I want to put several blues artist in the list too, but so far all my favorites are all signed up by majors. I put down Palace Music as Will Oldham.

I forgot an important record for the rock oriented list. "Ask the Unicorn" by Ed Askew should be up there I think, released in 1969 on ESP-Disk. Talk about indie labels and you automatically talk about ESP-Disk (to me most known from their release of "Spiritual Unity" from Albert Ayler) , or as quoted from Allmusic: "possibly the most legendary indie label of the '60s".

I'm busy writing a post about Ed Askew and especially his record "Ask the Unicorn", should be done for this Sunday. I'll make sure to make some references to the Indie list.

ok the list page basic is done now we start pruning, adding, deleting and add design.

more importantly, time to start linking into the list so google up calculate the page.

things to do:

- lock in 60-70-80 (make it tight and finish it)
- finish color code of genre
- write up for each decade
- sidebar (we can do a lot with the empty sidebar)
- make front page post that link into the list (to generate incoming link)
- make front page post related to specific genre (pcy rock, electronic, ect. )
- work with other blog to link into that list
- make post every now and than talking about various aspect of the list. (this include sub list, detail of era, etc, etc) The related post will be posted on sidebar too.
